    Does water have a taste?

Some of my friends and I were talking today about if water has a taste. Every single one of my friends that i was with(which was 5) thought water didnt have a taste. I personally believe that it has its own kind of taste. What do you think?? You cant really explain the taste...but its just like a clear taste. I guess it matters what you compare it to.

Re: Does water have a taste?

    It depends.

If you are talking about municipal or well water, then yes, water can definitely have a distinct taste. It depends on what minerals are found in it. It can have high levels of sulfur, chlorine, etc.

I moved to Texas and I absolutely can't drink water out of most faucets/water fountains because it tastes funny to me. I've been buying gallons of water to keep at home for the time being. I will look into buying some kind of filter to see if it helps at all.

Ice Mountain is probably the best bottled water i have ever had(next to Figi, but its way to expensive). People say that all bottled water is the same, but i disagree. Every bottled water i've tryed taste different then the other...must be a filtering process.

water does not react to any part of your taste receptors. If you burned off all your taste buds, everything would taste like water. Pure water that is

dasani and aquafina add minerals to their water. Ice mountain and nestle i believe tries to go as soft as possible without making it distilled

Re: Does water have a taste?

Water technically has no taste, but the things within it do. Since most water is not pure, for all intents and purposes, I would say water does have a taste.

there needs to be a "some water has taste, some doesn't" option.

Des Moines water can be odd sometimes. Not a fan.
