    Another mediacom thread

    I've posted on here a couple times in the last few weeks about Mediacom going off the air late at night, but here's another one. Has anyone noticed that on certain channels the picture and the sound don't match up. Not all the time but just every once and a while.

    You name it and Mediacom sucks at it! I have nothing but issues every week with that company. I have noticed that and the channels cut in and out constantly, but only during the shows, not the commercials though.

    Can someone explain to me why you guys keep a service that you do nothing but complain about? Unless I am wrong, I don't believe Mediacom requires a contract so find another option. I guess I just don't understand this mindset.

    Try living in an area that doesn't receive sat signal. Then you are stuck with Mediacom. This was my dilemma when I bought my new home. Got Mediacom hooked up on Friday at 4:30. The guy came over stinking of cig smoke and B.O. It took him roughly three hours to connect the box and internet. He had to run 0 cables. He took several breaks outside, then came in sweating head to toe and would sit on my brand new couch. All he had to do was plug things in and set it up. Again, three hours it took him. He even called in another guy to stand and watch him.
    Worked that night. Next morning, nothing. I called and told the person on the other end of the line "Just wanted to thank Mediacom for living down to my expectations. If I had a choice, I wouldn't be a customer." She went on to tell me that they couldn't get anyone out for a week or so. So, I took the box in myself, got a new one. It took me roughly 3 minutes to hook up and is now working.
    What a ****** company. Problem is, they know it and don't care. They do absolutely nothing to make things right with you because they know they don't have to.

    I thought all you needed was a "clear view of the southern sky"? And I also know the pain of Mediacom, which is why I no longer use them. I do have them for internet as they are the only high speed option for me. And there are many times they screw that up too.

    My neighbors gigantic trees to the south make it impossible. Had the Directv guy come out and test it too.

    And it's perfectly acceptable for you to have to take work off for their **** ups. Love that.

    I know a few people that work for the company. Absolutely hate it! They treat their employees like crap and pay them diddly squat.

    That's if they show up. I had a 4-7pm slot a few months ago. About 7:15-7:20, the tech called and said he could be there in 20 minutes.

    I have the same problem as GC - neighbors trees obstructing our line of sight. Otherwise, I'd be long rid of mediacom.

    I always get a kick out of their ads showing how much better equipment and service is with cable over sat. I used to have Dish and Direct - and had maybe 1/10 the problems I have had with MediaCom.

    I'm sure they'll offer to credit your account for the time its down too!
    Of course, when they offered that to me for my internet that went down for 2 days only a day after I got it, that credit mysteriously never showed up.

    I've demanded credits before and they never offered me one. Amazing how that company is allowed to operate.

    I'm not the one doing the complaining here, but when my wife and I lived in our north-facing apartment for the first 1.5 years of our marriage, our choices were Mediascam or nothing. The only reason why we kept Mediascam internet after we moved to a place where we could have satellite is, even though it's completely overpriced, it's still decent internet and we don't have Qwest where we live.
