    Please Help! Xbox-360 Help!

Recently over spring break i purchased a refurbished xbox from game-stop. I haven't had any problems until now. The xbox keeps freezing up at least every 5 to 15 minutes, it varies. I was wondering if anyone knew what to do, or if anyone can fix it besides Microsoft or buying another one? Like maybe Geek Squad or myself?

Oh and this problem is not the 3 red rings of death.
    Thanks for help.

That is a early warning sign of red ring of death if I am not mistaken. Do some online research. If it is indeed red ring, and microsoft won't take it I suggest attempting to fix it yourself. What is the manufactures date on the back on a white sticker?

You xbox is showing rings of death or ROD. Spend this time wisely in telling how much you care for your xbox and prepare yourself for that dreaded red ring where the green power ring is now present.

Is that a sign of hard drive failure?

No matter what, I agree with post #2. Time to make sure your files are backed up and you say your goodbyes.

2006-09-08. And no, i don't think its red rings i got that on my other one. Do you think i should put a fan towards the back cause i read it might be caused by overheating?

If this POS is broke i'm never going back to Game-stop. Thats B.s i bought it over spring break and i guarantee i haven't even played over 24 hours on it. I have been playing on this one for xbox live because my other xbox was banned from online play by Microsoft.

Yeah bro, it sounds like red ring. Mine started freezing just like you are explaining. It can happen different ways, but freezing is a symptom of the problem. Like I said earlier check out some online tutorials on how to fix Red ring, and I would not recommend wrapping a towel around the system.

Alright. But do you know if like best buy or geek squad could fix the system?
I have no clue what to do. Im sixteen, i bought that box with all my own money. And have been to busy to enjoy the system. I also don't have the money to buy a new one, and if i do. It would be a while and i would get a new one, not refurbished.

Modifying or "modding" your xbox so that it has the ability to play pirated games.

There is nothing wrong with GameStop, the early generation xboxs had a design flaw in which the processor gets too hot because of not enough cool air getting through.

Get one off of Craigs list for $100 or whatever they go for. Did you buy the extended warrenty from Gamestop? Worst case, take it back in there and see what they can do. Since it so close to when you bought it, they might be able to help you out.

Yeah. I will do that. But i wouldnt get one off Craigs, it would be in very bad condition. And im not spending that money on such a big risk.

    Re: Please Help! Xbox-360 Help!

either way if game stop "refurbishes" a item, I feel like it should work longer than what I have heard from multiple sources.

Back to the 16 year old, I recommend you asking around school and finding someone that can crack the case and fix the x-box. That or you can look it up online, because basically it is junk. And I believe Microsoft only covers systems within 3 years of the manufactures date.
