Are the Yankees the only team in baseball?

Ok, I'm not normally one to get into the whole ESPN east-coast bias, but this is ridiculous. Last night, Yankess vs. Red Sox on Sunday night baseball. Ok, it's the "best rivalry in sports" so I can understand why they would show that one...fine. But I turn on ESPN and guess who is on Monday night baseball...Yankees vs. White Sox Does ESPN not realize that the Yankees are 12.5 games out of first?! I might be able to fathom showing them two nights in a row if they were destroying everyone on a nightly basis, this is just insanity!

They put this game on ESPN because it was supposed to be Clemens' debut.

Yeah, I realized that once they started talking about Clemens at the beginning of the game. Still, if they were going to show it tonight, they shouldn't have put them on last night. Make a choice ESPN...

Re: Are the Yankees the only team in baseball?

ESPN and fox both signed contracts with the yankees and redsox. Every time those two teams have a series you will see ESPN broadcasting at least one game from the series and if it is on a weekend you will probably see fox picking up one of the games as well. (Im pretty sure all series include the weekend).

At any rate I think its refreshing to have access to watch the yankees as much as I have this year. Im not a twins, tigers, cubs, or cardinals fan so I am tired of those being the only options locally. I feel really bad for Royals fans.

Oh and if you are mad about the game today, dont be suprised if you see the Yankees on again this weekend or next Monday when Clemens does make his debut... Makes too much money not to give him national attention.

Re: Are the Yankees the only team in baseball?

It wouldn't be so bad watching the yankees if they didn't absolutely suck this year too. I like watching good baseball and the yanks are anything but that. Jeter can't even make fundamental plays this year. I find all of it hilarious as i hate the yankees. Last year they were hyping up Jeter to win the MVP and everything and it was awesome when Justin Morneau of the Twins won it. He actually deserved it. Jeter is one of the most over rated and over hyped players in all of baseball.

...the Royals have fans? Is there anybody out there willing to step forward and profess such a thing?

The worst part is that they talk about the yankees about 90% of the time even though the white sox are beating the crap out of them

My thoughts exactly. And if this was Team A vs. Team B, which doesn't include the Yankees, the topics of conversation for the night would be: A-Rod's home run last night, Yankees take the series from the Red Sox and Roger Clemens' groin.

Yes (network) they are on tv A LOT!!! But, who doesnt enjoy watching their pompus ***** lose?!?! They are doing a lot of that these days. Everything is finally catching up with them. Everyone knew they couldnt sign only overpriced talent, and give away their minor league value players forever.

Sitback, laugh at them, and enjoy it!

Re: Are the Yankees the only team in baseball?

Yankees or Red Sox equal high ratings for ESPN and that's with both teams being blacked out in their home market whenever they appear on ESPN.

BTW, i'm a Royals fan, have been since I was a kid growing up listening to the Royals on KMA out of Shenandoah and to this day, I watch or listen to the Royals whenever I can.

I am a Red Sox fan so I have no problem with them showing my team every night. However I do understand the frustration being a Cyclone fan.

Rip, do you have access to the YES network? I thought it was New York exclusively.. I guess I never fully looked into it. If I had any type of income right now I would think about purchasing a MLB subscription on dish...
