Just watched Zambrano throw for I-Cubs

And he really didnt look that great. His fastball was around 89-91. He let up a hit and then some guy jacked one to the fence and the Iowa Cubs center fielder made a nice jumping catch. If that would of bounced off the wall he would have gave up a run. I wasnt to impressed and it doesnt seem like hes improving much. He only pitched 1 inning, but looked shakey.

Is the radar gun at Principal Park not that accurate? Because when I saw them play New Orleans the pitcher, Armando Benitez, wasn't hittingthe 90's and I knew when he was in the majors he would hit 93-95 a lot.

Here's a key: Every park's gun is calibrated differently.

Armando is also getting old... I don't think he played anywhere at all last year. I think it's pretty accurate.

    1 inning?

That seems worth it. Or was he on a 40 pitch count or something, and it just took that long?

They used to be, but not as much anymore... Most of the games I go to I tend to sit with the scouts, their guns almost always match up with each other and the stadium gun.

We went last night in hopes of heckling him, but found out too late that he wasn't going to be there. Had 2nd row seats right next to the bullpen, too.

I was there tonight. Pretty packed house. Was it worth it to see Z one inning? Sure. I love it when big league guys come around. He didn't look the best but hey, it's still Z.

    Yeah TOAST!!!

Z was not impressive. The 2nd baseman for the Cubbies made a couple of great plays. Big crowd very humid!
