Re: Every North Teams Schedule and my Prediction.

I'm a Kansas fan i don't have a clue on how they will do. We do return something like 17 starters an Mangino had recruited pretty well over the last few years. We do have some talent in the wings it will be interesting to see how coach Gill uses it.

BTW. We will not lose to k-suxs in Lawrence....The Ames game will be more difficult than the k-suxs one.

You can rest easy. K-State and Colorado should battle it out for last place in the North.

Who does KU have for a qb this year?

Re: Every North Teams Schedule and my Prediction.

Colorado did beat A&M last year, and almost beat Oklahoma State. Its tough to play in the high altitude, and Colorado was pretty competitive in most of their conference games last year, even against some good teams. I think 4-4 is possible, but 3-5 is probably more likely. They won't win every home game.

Right now the two leading candidates are Kale Pick (i knowbad name for a QB) & Jordan Webb.

Kale played some last year in mop up/blow out duty. Didn't really show much of a arm but made a few plays with his legs. Good wheels. Jordan is more of a Reesing clone. Good arm, avg. wheels.

We did sign a juco out of Snow in Utah. Quinn Mecham. Don't know much about him. Committed to the previous staff but coach Long honored it an seems to think he can play.

I expect to see a lot more attempt a running this year. I doubt you see to much shotgun on 1st down from us anymore. With a big back like Toben Opurum also a true freshman in Brandon Bourbon look for a lot of pounding the ball until a QB emerges.

Bottomline, new coaching staff, new philosophy new QB's....Your guess is as good as mine on what to really expect.

Not too much to argue with, I'd say having ISU at 4-4 is probably the most suprising thing there to me, I'd be really happy with that.

CU was much better than people thought last year, all the bashing comes from people who obviously didn't watch them play but instead are only aware that they had a poor record. They managed to shoot themselves in teh foot last year several times, they couldn've easily been playing in a bowl game. There are lots of ISU fans who can't admit CU has a lot talent at most skill positions (probably better or equal to us everywhere but HB, and Stewart is no slouch) than most of the teams in the north. We were lucky to beat them last year, and the same will go for this year.

I think KU game is one of the most important games for us this year. With the way the last to years have gone, this is a game ISU needs. We've let ya off the hook the last 2 years

To be honest, I'll be surprised if Kansas wins more than one conference game. I don't doubt that there's a lot of talent on that team with the recruiting classes you've had recently, but you lose your top 2 receivers and QB, didn't have much of a running game last year, and the defense struggled as well.

I don't see where the offense is going to come from, and the defense has a lot to prove. Add in that almost everyone else in the North should be better this year, and I struggle to see where Kansas' wins will come from.

    Fair enough.
Last year we (KU fans) were expecting a great season an it imploded. This year i'm expecting the worse an hoping for a good surprise or two.

With a new coaching staff i just want us to get back to playing sound football again. Last years team quit on Mangino. Reesing was hurt most of the year so even he couldn't put the pieces back together.
We look at this as a fresh start for everyone. Players that were in Manginos doghouse can make a positive impression on the new coaches.

Mangino & staff did a lot for the program, gave it back some pride that was missing since the Mason years. They also developed a pipeline of Texas players.

I'm looking forward to see what coach Gill brings to the table now.
