Wow, can't wait to see the stadium's reaction at the UNI game. He's going to get a hell of a welcoming.

    Re: Troy Davis Update

Davis, who twice led the nation in rushing and was a Heisman Trophy finalist as a junior and senior, will be inducted into ISU's Athletic Hall of Fame on Sept. 8 when the Cyclones play Northern Iowa at Jack Trice Stadium.

The last time he was in Ames was when younger brother, Darren, was in ISU's backfield. His No. 28 jerseys still filled the stands.

"I know that the fans miss me, and I miss them, too," Davis said.
    I can't wait!

Didn't he leave ISU as a Junior?

Re: Troy Davis Update - Will attend ISU-UNI game

Can we get him eligible for his senior year? Troy really put Iowa State on the map. One of my best memories as a Cyclone fan was at the Missouri game where he ran for 378. I was in the southwest corner and he broke his final touchdown run from 45 or so yards out, and he was running right at me. I think my vertical had to be about 40" off the ground, I was jumping up and down so hard.

hopefully there won't be an acceptance "speech".

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs

Yeah, so diction has never been TD's strong suit... But he's a good guy, and he was a heckuva football player at ISU. I'll cut him some slack for that!

I have the game on videotape. It was one of those Tuesday Night Cyclone replays which used Pete Taylor's radio feed for the audio portion.

This is awesome to see, he deserves all the props in the world from the Cyclone faithful/Cyclone family. Unbelievable college athlete. Should be a LOT of #28's in the stands!

Re: Troy Davis Update - Will attend ISU-UNI game

If there is any guy I'll never blame for taking off a year early - it's Troy Davis.

The guy was on a losing team despite being the best back in the nation. To top it off, he was passed up for the Heisman Trophy not once, but twice.

Yeah, I'd get the heck outta dodge too....

Re: Troy Davis Update - Will attend ISU-UNI game

Didn't Troy leave early (in part) so his brother could take the lead role?

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

Ohh come on, Danny Waurffel deserved that trophy. He was an incredible QB, just look at all the great work he has done since that evening in NY.
