Will any top 100 Iowa kids

ever chose Iowa or Iowa State? I think we have to win in order to get Paige, Staten, Woodbury, and Gessell is kind of an in state kid. We just keep losing these kids. Really no fault of Hoiberg or Fran over at Iowa. Just wish they would chose to be part of the rebuilding instead of going out of state.

At one time we lost Lafrence, Hirinck, and Cullison. While they were at KU ISU had its best run ever. ISU also had a good team when 3 top Iowa boys were at the U of I in the mid 90s. While it is nice to get the great instate players you can win without the best of the best.

I just hope we are not talking about
    Barnes
    Woodbury
    Paige
and Staten 10 years from now. We should be able to get one of them. Hopefully Paige.
I also have not heard much about Staten. Anyone know if he is playign AAU ball this year.?

I can't think of many players from Iowa that were on our best teams in history. Outside of Fred, Loren Meyer, Hurl Beechum, Homan, and Haluska, have we had much for in-state players in our good years?

Our best teams start and stop with ONE team far and above the rest

    1999-2000 Iowa State Cyclones
    Martin Rancik - BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA
    Marcus Fizer - ARCADIA, LOUISIANA
    Stevie Johnson - BEAUMONT, MISSISSIPPI
    Kantrail Horton - COVINGTON, GEORGIA
Michael Nurse - TEANECK, NEW JERSEY
Jamaal Tinsley - BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
    Richard Evans - DALLAS, TEXAS
    Paul Shirley - MERIDEN, KANSAS
    Brandon Hawkins - FONTANA, CALIFORNIA
    Thomas Watkins - PHOENIX, ARIZONA

I don't see any Iowa on that list.

Re: Will any top 100 Iowa kids

In the past, has there been much talent in Iowa to go after? The next 2 recruiting classes appears to have more talent coming form Iowa then ever before. I do not know a whole lot about recruits coming out of Iowa since I grew up in Illinois so maybe someone could let me know. Thanks.

Marc Carlson was from Fort Dodge, he played on the 92-93 and the 93-94 team, that first team played in the NCAA's. He was the starting center at 6-6 when Loren Meyer got hit by the train and had to sit out a few games.

I'm pretty sure Jason Teeter, from Algona, was on one or two of those NCAA squads with Floyd.
