    ipod help

i have a band (broken bells) that doesn't show up on my ipod under "artists" when it is not connected to the computer

the music is on the ipod because i can access the band's songs from "albums" as well songs as "Songs" menu. when i try to look them up in the "artists" section however, they are absent.

they are listed correctly (alphabetically) when i plug my ipod into my computer and click on the ipod icon. there are no spaces or strange characters before the first letter. everything is spelled correctly.

the same is true for the band Broken Social Scene. Strange how these two both start with 'bro' and dont show up.

    any ideas?

Probably don't have the artist name listed for the mp3s. Try searching for the album name or track name when your iPod is plugged in.

Alternately, you can scroll down to the bottom of your tracks. Unnamed artists are listed at the bottom of iTunes.

    Hope that helps.

    Check your compilations settings...

    go into Music Menu Settings
    See if Compilations is checked
If checked, uncheck, then go see if the artists appears.

Broken Bells is listed as Broken Bells in itunes. they are listed as broken bells on my ipod too, i just have to locate their album or song titles instead of their band name.

    Re: ipod help

If all else fails have you found the files on your computer to make sure the artist (under properties) for all the songs is complete. If no artist is listed, edit them, then go to i-tunes and delete the old Broken Bells tracks and re-up the newer ones into your i-tunes. I've had to do that before and it has worked.

"Freddie knows the game," Bird said. "I'm sure he picked up a lot of stuff over the years from different people. College is different from the NBA, but I'm sure he'll do a great job."
