Great to hear Palo is stepping up. I still have never seen him play so it will be exciting when/if he gets some action during the season. Whats the chances he sees some minutes this season?

"Freddie knows the game," Bird said. "I'm sure he picked up a lot of stuff over the years from different people. College is different from the NBA, but I'm sure he'll do a great job."

It sounds like he's earning the opportunity to get quality minutes against the early season opponents. I would think the coaching staff would want to see how he does playing those games before they decide if he cracks the seven-eight man rotation come Big 12/10 time.

Backcourt rotation: Christopherson, Garrett, Anderson, Phillips, Palo
Frontcourt rotation: Vanderbeken, Ejim, Godfrey, Railey

Without a lot of experienced front court players, i would think we'll rely on more 3-guard sets this year. We really need Bubu to be able to step in and play 5-10 minutes a game. Hopefully he will prove he can...three freshman on the front line rotation is going to be tough, especially with JVB's style of play.

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

As excited as I've been about Railey, I forgot his name when listing newcomers at a family gathering a couple of weeks ago. So many guys coming in (and ones to be excited about!) that it's hard to keep track of everybody.

But this is a good problem to have. I really respect how the entrants are spaced out through the different classes instead of piled up in one big class. Fred and TJ have done a really nice job putting this together.

And it's fun talking with Hawk friends and having that chance to say, "Really, who doesn't want to be a Cyclone right now? Looks like everybody wants in."

It would be great if White gets a favorable ruling and can play right away!

The thing I like about the number of young posts that are fairly skilled (and completely inexperienced D1 players) is that chances are, a couple will come along quicker than expected and be a pleasant surprise. Along with that, I'd consider it a near certainty that by the following year (provided everybody stays with us) we'll have some things to look forward to on the front line

Let's put it this way...i'm not holding my breath for a waiver. They're generally given in hardship cases, and it's really difficult to frame this one as a hardship case.

CW mentions that Palo did better in DG's absence. The same thing happened last year in the CCL championship. DG was out for a sprained ankle or something and Palo ended up being the Playoff MVP!

I know McKnight has a sprained ankle, but I'm still worried there for some reason.
