My grandpa knew JB Hunt growing up. Apparently he was obsessed with ducks.

    Re: JB Hunt

I have worked in the transportation industry since college. What they will want to hear about is problem solving, multi-tasking, handling stress, thinking quick on your feet, and teamwork are some big ones off the top of my head. Giving examples of where you have experience in all of those areas are a very good idea. I imagine that the program is geared towards dispatch or customer service. I know those areas I gave seem somewhat generic for any position in any field, but that is what you will need in transportation.
Depending on who you interview with, knowing some jargon could help. If it is an HR person it probably wouldn't help as much as if it were a manager, supervisor, etc.

Where's your interview? Are you applying at the corporate office down here in Lowell?

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Make sure you evaluate the fact that Arkansas is a different country. It's a beautiful state, but in the ten years I lived there, I must have been call a *** damned Yankee a thousand times and that my church was led by the anti-******. And, there's no question there are too many Arkies still fighting the civil war.

And be careful where you move to in Arkansas, you may very well end up in a "dry county" surrounded by other dry counties.

    Re: JB Hunt

If you stay up in NW Arkansas in the Benton (Bentonville, Rogers, Lowell, Bella Vista) or Washington (Springdale, Fayetteville) county areas, you are fine, this area of the state is not anything like the rest of the state as there are more people that have relocated here due to Walmart, JB Hunt, and the thousands of vendor offices than you will find locals.

Benton is a dry county, but Washington is not, so if you need alcohol, you are only 20 minutes away from the nearest store if you live in Benton county. Also, every restaurant that would normally serve alcohol does here, you just can't buy it at the store.

If you venture out of these 2 counties though (and really if you get too far east in Washington county) you will end up in the backwoods...
