    Re: Directv

I saw this a couple days ago and was thinking of canceling my install and getting this deal.

Except you have to buy the TV, then for the rebate you get a $300 best buy gift card.

If I could use that $300 towards the TV or get a cash rebate then it would be another story.

    Re: Directv

I'm a little confused. Can you call in for this deal or can you only sign up through the internet?

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    -----------------------------------

there is no referral information in this post.

sorry, here are the instructions. GOOD LUCK. PM with any questions!

    INSTRUCTIONS

Go to bestbuy.directv.com and fill out your shopping cart with what you want for programming and receivers, but DO NOT CHECK OUT!

Next, go to bing.com and search for HDTV and then click the BING CashBack icon next to DirecTV.com. When you click the DirecTV link from BING as instructed next, you will be taken to a page that shows it's the BEST BUY DirecTV store on the TOP and say you are getting BING CashBack below that.

Next, paste this link in your address bar : http://www.directv.com/refer

and type in an account number from a friend or another source and click "get directv now". It will automatically bring you back to your Best Buy DirecTv shopping cart. Then check out!!

PRINT COPIES OF EVERYTHING AS PROOF! I suggest print pages to PDFs just in case you need to submit them to BING or print as proof in the future.

Print a copy of the BestBuy rebate form and read the terms before proceeding.

After placing your BEST BUY DirecTV order, either purchase a $499 or up HDTV from BestBuy online or instore and follow the instructions on the rebate on or before 7/14

Please feel free reply here or PM me if you have any questions

    GOOD LUCK!

    Jason

After all this you will get

Either the national or regional discount offer from directv

$10/mo off for 10 months from the refer a friend program

$50 or $350 gift card back after rebate from Best Buy

40% of you hardware and install costs that you get billed on your initial order (like extra receivers and the tv internet connection service fee.

GREAT LUCK TO ALL AND THANKS IN ADVANCE!

    UPDATE:

After this deal expires, you will only get $150 of gift cards, not $350

Savings from DirecTV will drop from ~$350-$500 on their base offer to ~$250

DirecTV will only give ONE free recevier instead of two

BING will be no longer after 7/31 of course

If you have had Directv for 2 or more years and have HD access, they are offering current subscribers who have autopay free HD for 24 months. Just signed up for it Sunday.

    Re: Directv

as much as i would like getting mlb network and nfl sunday ticket (since the twins and chiefs are rarely on tv b/c of blackouts or for being awful), why wouldnt you just go with cable that already has free HD and doesnt require you to buy a bunch of extra stuff with it. cable is also available to every tv in your home and not just a limited number of them

For me it is now at a point where Direct TV even after promotion periods will be cheaper then mediacom. I only have 2 TV's in my house though. My parents have 9 TV's in their home it is still cheaper for them to stay with mediacom.

I have Directv on every TV in my house (5 tv's) and have two additional outlets I can add 2 more tv's to. My Directv uses the same lines as cable uses in my house. Yes, I have to pay for my DTV boxes, but I own two of them on the older TV's, and I have a lot more HD channels than cable.

For those of you getting this offer, make sure you are home when they do the install. Make sure your Dish is extremely secure wherever it is located, and if you have a hub where all the cable lines come into to go out to the dish, make sure they put in the HD box. I had Directv out for some service work a few weeks ago, and the tech ended up replacing my hub, properly securing my dish to my house, re-routed my cables outside my house, and updating some of the parts on the dish, because the tech who installed the dish when I got HD didn't do it correctly. You want your install people to be Directv guys, not some contractor of Directv. I had a contractor when the dish was installed, and he did a pathetic job. The DTV tech told me he was amazed I was even getting any HD channels. Also, with HD you might want to think about the service plan, the boxes get expensive if you have to replace them. With the service plan, if you box goes bad (had it happen three times) you get a new HD receiver at not charge. I know, its an extra 6 bucks a month, but it's worth it vs. coming up with $100 or more for a new box.

You could also just sign up through Satellite City and not worry about service. They guarantee all of their work and I was told that they can usually replace the boxes as well. Oh, and if you have Dish Network and a 2 year commitment HD is free for life as well. No rebates or anything to do, they just don't bill you for it.

    Re: Directv

Does anybody know if Dish network is matching this at all? We are shopping around even though we will most likely go with Directv. BTW we are fed up mediacom customers.

ďI told you, I donít care if youíre black or white. I donít care if youíre rich or poor. I donít care where you come from, whether itís Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I donít care about any of thatÖ But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads
