I don't get into these publications much. But the one thing that stood out to me was ARob at 51st best running back. That's barely top half really - realizing a team could have multiples.

For a guy who led the league before injury, that's seems like more of a slap than AA.

You can really just stop reading after he ranks the qb's. That is enough to tell you he really didn't think about it and is an idiot. Also, Arob is much better then 51st best RB.

Re: The Steele Report: On all things Iowa State

Its been covered on CF before but his rankings are a joke. AA behind a second string QB with little experience or behind NU's Lee? THE A-Rob behind Iowa's A-Rob come on. The rest I cant argue too much with but give credit where credit is due.

That being said ISU/ISU Players dont get the credit it might deserve because of a history of mediocre at best football. If A-Rob played for TX or OK he would be first team all Big XII.

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

At this rate with our senior backfield rating not so hot, next year Steele rating will be a zoo.

Oklahoma as a "surprise" team? Doesn't OU have a top 10 recruiting ranking every year? Yeah Oklahoma is going to be good, the sun is hot, the sky is blue, and water is wet. Surprise teams are teams like Boise State, TCU and ISU.

Re: The Steele Report: On all things Iowa State

If A-rob would have not been hurt, than ISU would have beaten KSU and KU, and A-Rob would have been considered one of the top RBs in the country this year. Not real concerned about what Phil Steele thinks. He is pretty good with the top 15 to 20 teams, but after that, he just doesn't do enough research to know what he is talking about.

I don't want to make excuses for Mr. Steele, but with the QB rankings, are they based off of draft status? I.e. the best QB if the NFL draft were tomorrow, versus how good the QB is in the college game.

If that is the case, he should change the name of the magazine.
