    Reporters who observed the team’s off-season workouts expressed sympathy for Bret Meyers plight.

    “Wow, talk about karma,” said Ron Krieger of IOWASUCK 310 AM. “This is so much worse than breaking your foot or tearing a hamstring or something. This guy has to play next year with a bunch of wide receivers nobody’s ever heard of Matt Scribbins, or Jake Williams? Who the hell are these people? Do they have prior experience in the field of wide receiving? One of them actually got a pass wedged into his face mask, and then ran around in circles screaming that he couldn’t see. And that guy was the captain.”

    One receiver, Matt Scribbins, dropped every pass that was thrown to him during practice, but still remained optimistic that he would learn how to catch in time for the start of the season.

    “This is kind of like on the job training,” Scribbins told reporters afterward. “I didn’t make any catches this week but I definitely made some strides. For instance, I’m much better at running routes now. I’m no longer just running straight down the field into the tunnel. I’m doing hook patterns and slants and curls and everything else. By the time the season starts, I’ll be able to catch the ball too, or my name isn’t Courtney…what is it again? Matt? Oh well A.I. told me its only practice and not to worry and look how his team is doing in the NBA playoffs!.................

    Scribbens did drop a bunch of passes in the spring game but I highly doubt he sees the field much this year with Blythe, Summerall, Hamilton, Moses, and Messiah all likely to be ahead of him on the depth chart. Guy has to realize he's talking about a guy that's buried on the depth chart not a main target as a starter. Wow...

    All of these a$$hole posts from Nowledge and Iowa fans, come from the same place. Who has the most to lose if Iowa State becomes a good football program??? They do, it's simple, really.

    That's why these fools make me laugh. They spit the same tired lines, it's just Iowa State, money problems, etc.

    The thing is, that Iowa State is such a blank slate, there has never been the committment to athletics made that there is currently. If we, as fans, can see JP's vision through, there really are no limitations as to what can happen.

    Since this post was batting 0, how about I hijack it and start a new topic. Did anyone see that Tony Romo just split with Carrie Underwood? He wanted to focus on football. Last time I checked, you can do both. He just turned in his man card for what I can tell. She is gorgeous. Good luck with football Romo.
