I wonder why Rick Astley was picked? Why not Nickelback or Celine Dion, or Kenny G?

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

I don't get the video. Was he in prison when they filmed this?

I don't even think the song is the problem there...just the "changes" to it.

I think Rick defined the "white guy" dance moves.

I heard somewhere (not sure if it's true or not) that the origin is based on the fact that when radio listeners first heard Rick Astley, they thought they were hearing a soulful black man sing, but when they actually saw him, he was a skinny white dude. The premise of the Rick Roll is you think you're clicking on a link for one thing, but it's actually something else. See the parallels? Kind of a stretch, but who knows...

After being Rick Rolled many times my favorite dance move is the scene where the black guy in really short shorts just randomly jumps up against a fence.

Also the Rick Roll has now revitalized Rick Astley's career (well at least for one single)...
