    KC hotel advice needed

Family and I are going to KC this weekend, there is a 4 star hotel on hotwire.com that is in the downtown/crown center area. There is a pool, restaurant, fitness facility and spa on site. I thought it was a place called the Q but I do not think that has a pool. Any thoughts on what it is? $84/night is the rate right now.

I've never been steered wrong by a 4-star on Hotwire. If it has the amenities you're looking for at a price you can handle, go for it.

But, don't let your brother-in-law book you into 'American's Best Inn' because you'll find cockroaches in your bed. True story - and yes, it made the game at Arrowhead even more painful than it already was...

I stay at the Hawthorn Suites whenever I stay in Kansas City. Along with any beds in the room, every room I've stayed in has a pull out couch. Plenty of room for an entire family in my opinion. It's out of the way, but I find it easy to get around Kansas City from there.

have you tried hotdealsrevealed.com? It is a database supported by people who have gotten priceline and hotwire rooms. You just match up the area of town and amenities and it shows the names. I'm not sure how up tyo date it is but i used it for louisville once and it was correct

I have stayed at the Q before. Very nice place. Not real modern, but it is in the middle of everything. I have very good luck with Priceline in KC. I can usually get that Holiday Inn that JamesTaylor is talking about for $50-60 a night.

You could be getting the Rafael hotel, which I really like. It's an old school hotel, but the rooms are big and it is in a pretty good location.

Lots of people going to KC this weekend. I booked a hotel off of priceline this weekend 4star. It is the Crown Plaza Westin $101/night, total taxes everything. Please let us know what you land.

    Re: KC hotel advice needed

I've had good luck finding out these hotels using BetterBidding.com before booking. Here's a link to the Kansas City Hotwire list: Hotwire Hotel List - Missouri - Priceline and Hotwire Forum

From the amenities, it looks like you *probably* are seeing the Westin. Not a bad hotel from what I've heard.

Yeah...we stayed at the Crown Plaza downtown last year. Great location as you can walk to Power & Light District/Sprint Center. Believe we spent around $110 for our room.

Got kids? Great Wolf Lodge is pretty cool, though pricey.

This is where we are staying: Downtown Kansas City Hotels | Hotel Phillips

It's just blocks from the P&L and is probably the most affordable downtown hotel. Older hotel but recently renovated and is clean. Stayed there 4 nights for the Big 12 BB tourney in March and until someone beats their prices I'll probably keep staying there when I go to KC.

    Re: KC hotel advice needed

Just booked for the first week in August at the Double Tree in Overland Park on Priceline. Got a $105 room for $70 a night. I used the rebid tips from hoteldealsrevealed.com - works great. All I had to do was keep adding cities and ended up in a 3.5 star hotel in Overland Park which is what I wanted. I estimate I saved about $90 for the two nights I'm staying. Definetly worth the risk to use Priceline.
