there was an article about this on espn and they said that this was intended to get the fans pumped for the season and less about just beating nebraska. apparently once the site is launched in early august there will be more to. this video just made him a liar

Re: No, there's no hard feeling between UNL & UT....

Redout's are nothing new, message board fans normally call for a red out whenever there is big home game.

When I first saw the video on Friday, man I was bouncing off the walls exictment, however, i'm little bothered to find out that the University is behind this website and video. It's one thing for a fan to do something like this, but for UNL to be a part of it, I just think it sends a bad message. That said, it doesn't change how I feel for that game and the upcoming season, but leave the video and website creation to fans.

I'm sure that the Pelini's want to open a giant can of whoop on the Horns and i'm sure privately behind closed doors, this year's matchup with Texas has a giant bullseye on it, however in public, I just don't think UNL should be drawing attention to the game....Husker fans and the media (both in Nebraska & nationally) will have this game in super duper hype mode come October.

Perlman must have eventually said okay to the red splash video after thinking about our 9-7 shellacking of them last year in Lincoln, as Big Red needs every bit of hype possible this year to play against the marauders/pirates from Austin.

Said this before, but it's too bad they could not get up for this game (like this) before they left the league. They have to leave the Big XII in order to develop a rivalry?!

Re: No, there's no hard feeling between UNL & UT....

I did not check out the link, but my son will be a freshman at UNL this fall and we were just over there for New Student Orientation.

I can assure you, everyone - and I mean EVERYONE at UNL has a sore spot about this game. It was mentioned by the student ambassadors, faculty, leadership - every single person managed a jab at the Texas game from last year.

This game has the chance to make or break UNL's season this year. As much attentions as it is getting if they lose the rest of the year may not matter.

In high school I camped at UNL for football and from what I saw, this year's game is bigger than any Nebraska - Oklahoma match ever was. They are out for blood.

Nebraska might be so pumped up for this game that they will probably skip their usual "reach around" pregame locker room fun with ky jelly. meh.

Texas by 20. I know, you ask "How can a team score 20 points on the greatest defense of all-time?"

Nebraska has the media sucked in to how great they will be this season. I see epic failure (for Nebraska standards).

Re: No, there's no hard feeling between UNL & UT....

I was looking through the comments on the CPR video following the ISU-Nebraska game last year. There are STILL people posting on that and Husker fans are STILL upset about it. They say that November 6 will be one of the largest defeats in CFB history. Funny, I'm think ISU can win. Nebraska is not nearly as good as they think they are. Tell me again how you lose the best college DT in the last 20 years and improve on D.

I'm curious what his major is? I can't think of one at UNL that compares to one he could find in the great state if Iowa. I'm saddened to see an Iowa boy end up in Stincoln.
