    Toledo game

Ok, whether or not coach gets his chaplain is irrelevent going forward. SO..

Anybody planning on going to the Toledo game this fall? I see on their site that it's scheduled for 7:00pm EST, but our site says TBA. Anybody look into hotel, travel, etc? And anybody have an idea of how long it would take to get from Wrigleyville to the the stadium. By the map it says 245 miles, most all of it interstate.

Is Toledo in the MAC? Is there any shot of the game being on tv?

We're thinking about a long weekend of Cubs & Clones and trying to figure out the logistics of it all. Hope it works out. The fans that came to the boards last fall were alot of fun and I had a great time when we travelled for the Ohio U game a few years back.

    Re: Toledo game

It certainly is tempting. If it is indeed a night game, the g/f and I could make a weekend of it by leaving Saturday morning, staying there, and coming back home Sunday. Wouldn't be half bad.

Kansas played out there last year on either ESPN or ESPN2 on a weeknight.

It should be a helluva game.

Should take less than 4 hours but really depends on Chicago traffic.

I will be there as it only takes an hour to get there from where I live in Michigan.

    Re: Toledo game

I just drove through Chicago and Toledo on my way to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. The drive from Chicago to Toledo is not that bad, if you don't mind tolls.

By the way, Cedar Point is seriously awesome.

If you need to go anywhere in Ohio... you will need to pay the tolls. Watch your speed too, the troopers love out of state plates.

And yes, Cedar Point is excellent.

    Re: Toledo game

I already have Cubs tix for Fri and Sat, and have a line for tix on Sun. The Cub game is slated for 12:05 on Sat, the FB game at 6:00. 4 hours would give us a couple innings anyway - probably skip it altogether and just get to Toledo and tailgate.

But Cubs on the way out, maybe Cubs during, Clones for sure, Cubs on the way back. Sounds good to me. Especially if Chicago gets their ***** together and is in the pennant race come end of Sept. Wrigleyville will be insane.

You guys are talking like the game is on Saturday. The game is Thursday, Aug 30th, 7pm. Hopefully your plans are not screwed up.

The Thursday night game on the 30th is Kent State at home.
    Toledo is September 22nd.

    Re: Toledo game

They are talking about the Toledo game (see the title of the thread) that is at Toledo this year. You are thinking of the Kent State game.

Where are you driving from? And how fast are you going???

Considering it takes 2 hours going 75 mph to get from Des Moines to Davenport, another 3 to get to and thru Chicago (assuming traffic is moving well), another 2 to get thru Indiana, and then another hour on top of that to get to Toledo, that's at least 8 hours. Count the time change and it's 9 hours. I know this because I have averaged at least one trip to New York every year that I've lived in Davenport (my family's out there and I've lived in Davenport for 25 years), and those are the average drive times. 4 hours? Unless you're driving from much closer in you're spinning your wheels...

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

100% my bad. I was in a hurry, thinking this years game would be the same as last years only away.

    Re: Toledo game

I've been debating it for quite a while. After that ridiculous game last year, I would probably not go if we still had the same coach. I have to believe that our new coach will do a much better job, so I think I will go. The old expectation are just so hard to shake, so I can't unfairly apply them, but it is difficult after being conditioned for so long.
