It was reported in the middle of this past May that the ACC and ESPN had reached an agreement on a 12-year, $1.86 billion deal that would combine the football and basketball packages together for the first time.

Today, the two sides officially and publicly consummated the new marriage.

Sounds like $150M average per year, escalated or $15M a team average. Looks like ACC may be stable and SEC would have to raid someone else..

Re: ACC-ESPN reach 12 year deal

I wonder what kind of impact this would have on the future Big XII deal that the conference is hinging on. Would you think this has no impact, or a risk that ESPN has blwon their wad of cash and the bidding for the Big XII won't go as high?

Or better yet, would you say this bodes well if the ACC can get $15 million per school, that the Big XII should be able to do much better?

Re: ACC-ESPN reach 12 year deal

Sounds like they kind of screwed themselves over, doesn't it?

$15 million a year is already behind the SEC/Big10welve.... I can't imagine how far behind it will be when the contract expires a decade from now
