    name game

I was wondering, there was a stud DT back in the early 1980's by the name of Shamus McDoughna(SP). Anybody know if current Cyclone with the same last name is a relative or son or no relation? That guy was an outstanding DT.
Also there was Neil(last name) Maybe Kenny a big O-lineman back about then any relation to current Cyclone with the same last name? Thanks for clearing this up for me.

#91 Patrick Neal is currently playing football for Iowa State. Brian Neal (his father) played football at Iowa State from 1977-81. John Neal (his brother) played on the Iowa State basketball team from 2002-06.

#94 Jake McDonough is currently playing football for Iowa State. Shamus McDonough played football at Iowa State from 1979-82. I do not know if they are distantly related, but they are not father and son.

    Re: name game

Shamus was a graduate of Corning, Iowa High School. I remember his introduction on Senior Day on the field with his parents and they both came up to his waist. Was told he was adopted. He was a great defensive tackle.

    Re: name game

Thanks guys. Sounds like some of you remember those guys as I do. Brian was an O-lineman on some pretty good Cyclone teams. Shamus was great, met him one time, big dude, very reserved. Did he have injury problems? I thought he could have been an nfl'er.
