    Anyone take Herb Supplements?

    Such as Ginseng?

    Like - Dislike?

Any comments in general or other herbs taken?

Garlic and Fish Oil. Mentioned it to my doctor and he's fine with it. Both are supposed to be of some help to cardiovascular health.

I'd probably run most anything you want to do by your doctor first.

I've had some good results with echinacea to help with immunity when sick, but haven't done it for a while.

Tried Ginko biloba, but it actually thins the blood I believe, and you need to take it a while for effect, so I personally don't recommend it.

Tried siberian ginseng a while back and don't think it hurt, but not sure if it helped.

Definitely sold on B-Complex vitamins for stress though.

Fish oil and a multivitamin (costco one-a-day knockoff).

Fish oil is alleged to have a whole bunch of positive health benefits, and really no major side effects in healthy people.

Multivitamin is just a "catch all" in case I don't get everything I need from my diet alone (which is really what the fish oil is too...).

    Re: Anyone take Herb Supplements?

I take lots of supplements, but since I'm a chick and they are for 'chick stuff' I won't bother you with it all...

But, we're planning an international vacation in a couple months so we just starting taking Epicore to boost our immunity systems for the duration. (We don't want to touch down in Ireland and spend half the trip sick as a dog.) It was discovered at Diamond V in Des Moines, and was featured a few weeks ago in the Des Moines Register.

We found it at a HyVee. It's a bit pricey, but if you compare it with the cost of this once-in-a-lifetime vacation, it's cheap.
