A solution to the "if ISU had Iowa's budget problem"

The legislature needs to step in and tax the tickets and split the revenue. Have ISU lower if not keep our prices stable and let the differential of Iowa's more expensive tickets subsidize ISU's athletic dept. It's a travesty we lost our baseball team. It's obvious that without government intervention the greedy pigs from the east are going to do everything possible to keep us from reaching our full potential. There are three state schools. Seems to me the budgest for two of those should be roughly equal given the parity between them. And if one doesn't want to cooperate, they shouldn't have that choice any longer.

We need every dollar we can get and if it means Iowa has a little less, so be it.

wow we have a winner first post. The last thing we need is one university subsidizing another. I want ISU to do well as much as everyone else, but I want ISU to succeed based on its own actions and not because Iowa had to help us out. If you want to truly feel like the little brother, your on the right track.

So you want to force people to donate money to the athletic department through government? We need to have success to make more money. They have their cash cow in the Big 10...we just have to make ours.

If ISU and Iowa are "in it together", we ought be the same university with different branches. I don't want that. So no thanks.

This is the way to do it, not some odd forced subsidization method. What a disaster that would be

Than do we need to give money to UNI also? I dont want Iowas money. Like it or not they made the right move and had some luck on their side to get where they are. It is not their fault ISU had some bad choices and luck along the way. Over the past 5 years things have changed for the better in Ames, that will pay off in the long run for ISU.

    Right, this is what's happening.

Oh, and I don't want a single dollar from Iowa, other than the normal percentages of sales that we get when we play any other team.
