    Re: Big 12 Reprimands Tuberville

I actually think that what he said has been way overblown and taken somewhat out of context ... however, the one thing that is very clear is that Tech is "not happy" that A&M is guaranteed more money than they are - his opinion was right in line with how they feel in Lubboch

    Re: Big 12 Reprimands Tuberville

The Big 12 issued the reprimand on its athletic website, saying Tuberville’s comments were a “violation of the Big 12 Conference’s Principles and Standards of Sportsmanship, prohibiting public criticism of members.”

    ********

Makes you wonder if Fennelly will get a wrist slap, too, for his comments about Tuberville.

So y'all are mad that Tuberville (and Texas Tech) object to Boobe's scheme for inequitable distribution of B12 tv revenue? I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

I think Tuberville was criticizing Comissioner Boobe, which would not amount ot criticism of another member. That said, we Red Raiders reserve the right criticize the Aggies any damn time we feel like it.

No one forced the schools to sign the contract, oh wait, they didn't have a better offer and if your ISU you really didn't have an offer. So, how unfair is it?

Knew that was comin' ... it only took until post #2

Everyone is better off now (with the new Big12) than before and everyone will be as good as they would have been (except Texas Tech) with moving ... and no one (KSU, KU, ISU, MU, BU) is being left out

I would how "we Red Raiders" would feel if they had been part of the forgotten group, which wasn't (and more importantly isn't) that far from reality

It's ok to be disappointed in what didn't happen for "we Red Raiders" but y'all are a helluvalot closer to being like us than like them

I agree with some of what you posted but, if you want the conference to be stable, the revenue distribution must be more fair than what Boobe proposed. That's the main point of Tuberville's and Tech Chancellor Kent Hance's public comments on this subject over the past few weeks. If ISU, KSU, etc. are starved for funds, you will not be competitive, which hurts the conference as a whole. Now if everyone wants unequal distributions, then we're ****** that our most hated rival may be guaranteed a bigger payout after bringing jack squat to the conference in football during the past 10+ years. What can I say? We're an excitable fanbase.

And Tech brings what exactly that would warrant money equal to A&M? 25% less butts in the stands for every home game (compared to A&M) and many many less TV sets than UT, OU, and TAMU. Ok, just checking.

    Re: Big 12 Reprimands Tuberville

I understand the emotions. Trust me, we've had plenty here over the past month.

It is ironic that the one school (NEBRASKA) that has held up equal revenue sharing all these years is leaving. They can say all they want about 11-1 votes on stupid crap like where the Championship game is held, but it was the bugeaters (along with UT, OU and A&M) that held out equality.

That said, from where we sit ... getting $15 mil and having Texas get $20 mil is a helluvalot better than getting $3 mil in the Mountain West

I mean honestly, are Texas and OU going to get better with more money???? No.

But I do believe that everyone else can get better with their increased revenue.

Oh no no no no no. I think you read into that too much. First, "y'all" is not a word. I get you're probably from the south, but regardless, it's an improper conjunction. Second, I don't think anybody is happy that the B12 revenues are not equally split. Texas (the school and the state) is/are coming out of this WAY better than any of the north schools, save Nebraska and Colorado. Third and finally, what the comment of saying that he's getting what he deserves is in reference to the fact that people in certain positions can't and shouldn't be allowed to say certain things. Tuberville saying that the Big 12 is likely to fall apart, not a good idea. Is he voicing his opinion? Yes. Is he right? I bet most people would faintly agree with some of his sentiments. Should a leader in any position question the organizational structure publicly? Well, you could ask General McChrystal how that works out. Granted that's a completely different issue, but same general concept.

This. It may be unfair revenue sharing, but it is hands down better than what any of the misfits would have gotten anywhere else.
