i'm not a huge basketball fan so i don't know all the ins and outs of it. but why would lebron even want to leave? did the cavs not have the best regular season in the league last season? weren't they also 1st or second the previous year?
i realize they didn't win a title, but that was as much lebron's fault as it was the rest of the team and/or coach. personally, i don't know why the coach was fired either.
who is to say that just because lebron may end up with another superstar that it would even lead to a title? mo williams was an allstar before going to cleveland was he not. they already had a combination of two allstars and failed.
if it is truly about winning a title, take a pay cut and bring in the player(s) you want beside you lebron.
He has no supporting cast. Mo Williams and Anthony Parker as your starting backcourt? Pathetic IMO. Not to mention the city of Cleveland is nothing to write home about. He gave the Cavs a fair shot and couldn't win a title. He doesn't have many elite years left so I'm sure he's feeling the urgency to win now.
I read an article that compared the prime years of players who played 4 years of college and those who left high school right away. It showed how the age of the player didn't really matter, the wear and tear of the NBA game burns out (mos) players in the same amount of time. Just something to think about, he's been in the league 7 or so years already. I don't think saying he only has a few elite years left could be that far off.
The Cavs management has thrown major money at mediocre free agents and made poor trades to get him the best team to keep him happy. Now they're sadled with bad contracts and have no trade bargaining power, which hurts their chances to resign.
I still don't see his chances of winning titles improving anywhere else but chicago. The idea he's going to miami and playing for less to have a better title shot is ridiculous, or a NY team where the team around him is way worse than the cavs.
If he thinks the cavs management is a joke, then the NY teams will be a laugh riot.
