David Sims Gets Some Love From Husker Locker

I thought you CFers might enjoy this read on Husker Locker website. The site rates the 10 most underrated Big 12 players for 2010 and has some nice things to say about David Sims:

Re: David Sims Gets Some Love From Husker Locker

Why he’s on the list: With 88 tackles and 5 interceptions, Sims was a key reason why ISU grabbed a surprise bowl berth in 2009. The schedule likely prevents a similar journey in 2010, but this undersized (5-9, 205) JUCO gem plays the game with instincts and toughness. He’s better, in our book, than the more highly-touted Blake Gideon at Texas.

The last sentence is the best!

Yes it's shocking that a husker fan site would dog on Texas LOL

"As good as some of players are, they’ve still managed to zoom under the radar of some Big 12 fans."

    What?
Swear to God, my 13 year old niece could put together better sentence structure.

Considering that David Sims decommitted from Nebraska before he signed with ISU, this is not that big a surprise. They really wanted him as well.

Wasn't Sims an Oklahoma commit? And if he was a Nebraska commit, wouldn't that make them a little disdainful of Sims' success?

I think you have Nebraska confused with Oklahoma. I'm fairly certain David Sims never committed to Nebraska.

I think they're right about Sims. He's a big hitter built like Bob Sanders and he should have another good year, maybe a great one.

He's 5'9"? He sure plays a lot bigger than that.

Re: David Sims Gets Some Love From Husker Locker

Sims could be the best safety in the Big 12 and one of the best all around defensive players. I really expect big things out of him.

Gideon IS overrated though. What's his most defining play? something awesome? nope. just the guy that missed the tackle on Crabtree.

Yeah, but if you ask most people what Sims defining play is they won't have an answer. Gideon is a great football player. I just don't think he is as good as Sims, at least not right now. Sims HAS to be the leader of this defense along with LJ. If those two can play exceptionally well, that will go miles for our defense.

Amen to that brother. Hopefully he can keep the motor running. When any team can have a solid hitter in the deeps it really adds value towards the rest of the D. Looking forward to seeing what happens this year.

It's too bad we couldn't have won that Iowa game... his interception to start it off might have been it.
