    Mower Trouble

I was mowing tonight and my mower hit my deck after the self propelled handle got caught. It shut down my mower and now it wont restart. I put the mower up against the deck to see if the spark plug got hit and it didnt. Any idea on what it could be or who to take it to for a fix? I attached a picture of one i found online, but this is my exact mower, the front metal box looks dented on mine.

    Re: Mower Trouble

Considering the potential cost of labor for repairs, maybe it's better to invest in a new mower.

if the front deck is dented, is the blade free to turn, or does the deck being dented prevent the blade from turning?

One of my first thoughts. It's really almost a disposable item. Unless he bought the Honda new, at which point it's an expensive disposable item.

you don't even know what is wrong at this point? hondas will last a long time, and they aren't cheap to buy new.

The deck isnt dented, its the engine box above the deck just below the spark plug. This cost far too much to be a disposable item. Bought it 3 years ago, of course my 1st problem ever with it is due to a fluke.

In terms of repair costs, a mower can end up as a disposable item. That's the trick when you buy the higher-priced Honda or other mowers. If something does happen, that's a tougher decision in terms of repair or replacement. I don't see myself wanting to spend that much on a walking mower.

    Re: Mower Trouble

I just had my Toro serviced by Chris' Quality Sharp and lube....based in Ankeny, but he will come to your house and service your mower or take it back to his shop and return it when finished. His prices were comparable to taking your mower to other service shops and leaving it for a week......Here is the web site....

Maybe you just knocked in the idle switch that is right near the spark plug. You'll need to pull it back towards you.
