Interesting article on NU recruiting in TX

NU recruiting in Texas: Maybe there's no dropoff - Omaha.com

I don't doubt that NU will continue to recruit TX with the connections they've already made there, but they will definitely be affected. I believe that their TX recruiting will fall off somewhat. 10 years down the line, I don't expect them to be much of a player down there.

Man, I didn't know that the Big 11 signed all of 10 TX recruits last year. The Big 12 really has a stranglehold on that state.

I agree with u completely. I don't think it will be overnight, but will slowly erode away.

Funny this story is coming from Omaha, why didnt they have a guy from Texas do this story, because they have no idea what the Big 10 is. NU fans keep telling themselves it wont hurt recruiting and I think THEY are starting to believe it.

This has been a big discussion in the Omaha area, I think this will definately impact their TX recruiting but I agree it will be a gradual process. EVERY team gets guys from Texas, the Big 12 just gets more

Re: Interesting article on NU recruiting in TX

The only argument I've heard against this is that they recruited Texas well in the Big 8. Well, back then, they still played one state away (Oklahoma) every year and two states (Kansas) every year. Now, the closest they will be playing any year is three states away (Nebraska)!
