    Strasburg to All Star Game?

If you haven't seen this guy pitch yet you need to (I think he pitches tonight on ESPN). He is unreal. The more he pitches in a game the better he gets. Now there is talk about him getting into the All Star game. IMO he should make it, even though he has had only 4 starts. If you are that good then you should make it. Just wanted to see what everybody else thought.

Not an All-Star... he'd take a spot from a pitcher that deserves it and been performing all season.

He'll have plenty of years to be there, no need to make a push for it in the first month of his career.

I completely agree. Plus, it's the Nationals. Outside of Zimmerman they don't have an All Star caliber player on that team.

Strasburg is ridiculous. Only 21 and has something like 42 K's in 25 innings. Unreal. When you can hit 100mph on any given pitch at any point in the game, and you also have a nasty curveball, you are going to be very good. And his control is as impressive as his stuff. The 5 walk game was a fluke. Unlike guys who have nasty stuff but little control (Oliver Perez, Daniel Cabrera waaaay back when, etc.) Strasburg actually has control of his pitches. He is a lot of fun to watch.

He has 3 starts before the break. If he continues to throw as dominate as he i now then maybe I'd put him on the team. Also depending on how many starting pitchers throw on that Sunday if he's not one of them I wouldn't mind him filling in a for one of them since they aren't going to throw anyway

If he doesn't get on by vote he should be picked by the Phillies manager. Who cares if he is a rookie, he is definitely one of the top pitchers in the NL.

Disagree, Adam Dunn is putting up allstar numbers. He could just as easily go if Zimm didn't.

Seems a bit wrong IMO. It would be different had he actually been winning games...and I know his team struggles to score runs...but I just don't think he is deserving...YET!

I don't think Dunn is undeserving by any means, but first base is such a deep position that I don't think Dunn's power numbers set him apart from a more well rounded player.

Pujols, Votto, and Adrian Gonzalez would all get my vote ahead of him. I would put Dunn 4th, but definitely ahead of bigger names like Prince and Howard.

Strasburg is dirrrrrrttttyyy man. This is my first time watching him pitch and the rumors are true. A 90 mph change up? If this kid doesn't throw out his arm Kerry Wood style he's going to be something special.

He'll be an All-star next season. Not this year

I could see it if he had been up all season so far and pitching well. The whole league will not have even seem him one time yet. IMO, he hasn't really earned it yet.

Re: Strasburg to All Star Game?

I went and watched Strasburg in person on Wednesday when they played the Royals and lost. Pretty cool to have seen his first career hit, as well as his first career loss.

Anyway, if I'm Charlie Manuel, I'm picking him to be on my All-Star roster. The Manager gets to choose the last couple of spots. The winner of the game gets home field for the All-Star game. Maneul's Phillies have just a good as shot of any NL team to get back to the World Series, so why not give yourself the option of having his arm on your team to help your cause?

I also don't think he should take a spot away from anyone else, but after the fan vote and the player vote, anyone who should be on the team would already be there.

Hudson deserves that spot more than Strasburg does.
