Any word on the new golf coach?

Just wondering where JP is in the process; hadn't seen anything new about it recently.

Re: Any word on the new golf coach?

I didn't even know we were looking for a new golf coach... What happened to our last one? Our women golfers seemed like they were doing rather well this past season, and the men weren't terrible.

    True and Valiant

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

The men's coach, Jay Horton, resigned to 'pursue other opportunities,' if I am remembering correctly.

So, really....nobody has heard anything at all? I can't imagine it would take more than a couple months to contact, interview & hire a new coach but maybe JP has decided not to continue the program!

There was a small article about Oskaloosa native, Jerry Smith being interested. He is a former PGA Tour Pro and played in the US Open earlier this month.

It's been less than a month since the NCAA golf season ended. Calm down.

So it's written somewhere that we have to wait until the NCAA Championships are over, that's how we conduct our search? Unless we're waiting on the Augusta St coach....

Just figured somebody may have heard something since Horton resigned on May 3rd, which was nearly two months ago.

Appears the hire will be made by Callie Sanders. Who knows what's going on, although there was a little thing call conference realignment.

This is a serious question, why do you actually care who the next golf coach is? Do you love all things ISU, or just golf in general?

ISU men's golf was never even mentioned on this site until Horton left.

Then the piranhas showed up to rip his ***.
