Thanks Blummer. I could use and equipment upgrade at some point but I'll do the best with what I have for now.

Re: CCL: Video, photos and thoughts

The last game last night was really fun to watch. Ejim was matched up against Babb. They were really going at it, in a good natured sort of way, you could tell each enjoyed the competition .... whatever you can do, I can do better. Babb was lighting it up from 3 pt land and Ejim was trying to match it (and couldn't) and Babb was trying to play Ejim physical and keep him out of the paint (and couldn't). It was really good to see them going at it this way and the competition will make both better players. Particularly Ejim; he will learn how to guard on the perimeter and to have a better outside offensive game too. Anderson also played in this game and this was the best he's played so far. Yes, he can play the point and would make a good backup for DG; don't think DG's starting job is in any jeopardy though.

Re: CCL: Video, photos and thoughts

It was pretty entertaining to watch Babb and Ejim go at it. Babb was lighting it up in the first half, but Ejim responded in the 2nd. It's really too bad Babb isn't eligible this year, because we could really use another shooter of that caliber.

Re: CCL: Video, photos and thoughts

Couple of comments on the games last night:

    (1) I agree with RickyBaby, but I will note that Ejim's outside shot was smoother than I anticipated. In his Annie Oakley skit with Babb, Ejim answered a Babb 3, with an NBA 3, which looked easy and smooth.

    (2) While this has been noted before, Ejim very much has a Big 12 body. While he needs to improve his handles and his ability to stop quickly (e.g., for pull up jumpers and adjustments on the drive), he has the potential to be scary good. He was better than I had imagined, and I am generally hopeful when it comes to recruits.

    (3) Babb will be a very nice addition to our team. He may not be as athletic as Ejim, but he has a silky smooth shot, drives under control (and thus passes well off of the drive) and moves / cuts well off the ball.

    (4) Demarcus Phillips seems to be a very nice young man. We were sitting three rows from the back row, and Demarcus was standing on the top level and stretchng on the bars. My three year old daughter saw him and went up and starting playing with him. Some people may be able to fake it, but Demarcus looked like he was genuinely getting a kick out of her (and her Clifford dog). To say the least, my wife and I found it quite entertaining, and my daughter likes her new friend Demarcus.

Re: CCL: Video, photos and thoughts

I was surprised with how many points Ejim had, sure didn't seem like it. He does have a good build for a freshman. I loved watching him at Babb go at it. In my mind, it was Babb trying to get him tougher. Good to see. I agree that Babb has a great shot.

I thought DG played exactly the role we need him to play. He wasn't trying to be flashy, just a steady leader. If anyone deserves to have a successful season, it is DG.

I was more impressed with Anderson than I thought I would be.

Bubu was fast and was taking it to that other team at will. I'm pretty sure that other team was not very good.

Did not get to see much of Jamie, Scott, and DeMarcus. Hope to see them on Sunday.
