Our 2 best NBA players of the past 25 years where drafted late 2nd round. Our first round picks haven't done a whole lot.

Aw yeah, Grayer and Hoiberg. 2 NBA talents recruiting for ISU really comforts me.

I met Delmar Diercks once. Nice guy that practiced veterinary medicine in north central Iowa.

I assume Wesley Johnson is going to be added to that list on Thursday. Him and Mike Taylor both left the team, played a season with a different team, and then were drafted. I'm not sure ISU deserves less credit for Johnson than Taylor.

Wesley Johnson will not be on that list. Mike Taylor didn't play at another college after he left Iowa State.

I understand that. My point, which I didn't make clear, is that we shouldn't really be taking credit for Mike Taylor being drafted. When he left here, he wasn't on any draft radar. His D-League coaches deserve most of the credit.

The guy had issues when he was here and has clearly turned his life around. With another year here, he could have been drafted from ISU and not in the D-League.

Ames Still Home For NBA's Mike Taylor - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

“If I could do it all over again, I would want to be here (Iowa State),” Taylor reflected. “I was immature and I accept all the mistakes I made. Everybody makes mistakes, nobody is perfect. Learning from your mistakes is the key to not making the same mistakes in the future. I loved my time here at ISU. The fans were great. There was nothing like the feeling I felt when we played Kansas and took them to overtime. We were coming out of a timeout and I could feel the floor shaking. There is nothing that can match that feeling.”

I agree. Once kicked off the team I think we lose all rights to say he was drafted a Cyclone.
