Marquis Gilstrap working out for the Suns today

I just got off the phone with Marquis Gilstrap. He is working out for the Suns today. Just thought I'd pass this info along. All of my sources are staying strong that Marquis will be drafted on Thursday night. I keep hearing the 40-60 range. Of course, nobody actually knows.

That would be the first time since 1995 that ISU had 2 players taken in one draft (assuming Brackins goes, which he will).

Yet we couldnt even qualify for any post-season play.
The worst thing in the world isnt failing to achieve. Its under-achieving.

I would love to see him in the NBA. He's a hard worker.

Man, would Gilstrap fit in well in Phoenix! He can hit the 3 and attack the rim on the break. I can't imagine a better fit for him.

Re: Marquis Gilstrap working out for the Suns today

I have one memory of Marquis that I'll never forget. After the Clones lost to Texas in this year's Big 12 Tournament, we all knew that the season was over obviously.

Marquis was a wreck emotionally. The season coming to an end really, really bothered him. He left it all on the court (cliche' alert).

That's just the way that he played.

He must really be shining in these individual workouts because he really did not look too good at Portsmouth. All the best to him!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

This draft will be a stark reminder of the poor coaching job Mcdermott did at ISU.

Brackins and Wesley Johnson will be taken in the 1st round. Gilstrap probably in the 2nd. Even with this NBA talent on his teams he beat fewer ranked teams (1 total) in 4 years than Wayne Morgan's worst team did in one season! Its mind boggling.

That is why he is now at Creighton. More than likely he will not have to coach NBA talent soon.
