Eagles to trade McNabb to Bears?

The recent drafting of quarterback Kevin Kolb could mean that Donovan McNabb will be traded before the 2007 season. A few observers have opined that McNabb will be moved after the coming season. But here's a scenario that has him moving before September. The Bears are ready to win the Super Bowl. This scenario obviously depends on two things. One, that McNabb is physically ready to play on Week 1 of the 2007 season. Two, that Chicago is convinced McNabb is their best available QB option.

That would be HUGE news. Pretty much the missing link from the bears,

Re: Eagles to trade McNabb to Bears?

eh, I'm not reading into that too much right now until some other major outlets like ESPN start talking about it too. Lot of those rumor sites are not very reliable but are fun to read.

If the Bears wanted to improve at QB without giving up much Trent Green would probably be a better option and he's still better than Grossman. I would think you'd have to give the Eagles a few high picks plus McNabb's salary is probably an issue too. With Green, he wants out of KC so bad he'll re-work his contract and a 4th or 5th round pick would probably get the deal done. Miami is only offering KC a 6th rounder and KC has balked at that.

Re: Eagles to trade McNabb to Bears?

Green wants Miami - period. I've read nothing about him going to Chicago.

Don't care too much about who Chicago may/may not get. Yet McNabb leaving the NFC East wouldn't suck. While he's battled health issues, he has done some damage to my Cowboys a time or too. The prospects of the Dallas defense feasting on a rookie 2nd round draft pick is quite appealing to me.

Not putting too much into this yet, but it would be huge if it happened.

What is with the washed up has beens Miami keeps getting. They need to just draft a young stud for once. I cannot handle being a fins fan anymore, it is about as frustrating as being an ISU fan.

Re: Eagles to trade McNabb to Bears?

Dude I didn't say Chicago is interested in Green. I know Green wants to go to Miami but if the Bears were serious about an upgrade at QB they could probably have Green a lot easier than McNabb. I think McNabb to the Bears is a pipe dream and honestly when was the last time the Bears have had a good QB? Everyone that has gone there recently either through the draft or free agency has sucked. The good Bears teams have won with great defense and a good running game.

Re: Eagles to trade McNabb to Bears?

Getting Culpepper was one of the worst moves the Dolphins made. Somehow they felt a reconstructed knee was less risk than a bum shoulder. So far, they're wrong. And if you switch up those deals (Brees to Miami, Culpepper to New Orleans) - no way the Saints make the playoffs and I firmly believe the Dolphins would've been there. Miami had their chance, they passed on him.

I've never, ever liked Daunte. I felt he was a step or two below Moss in the whining/dedication arena. I don't think he worked as hard as he could've at getting back on the field. I don't know for sure, yet I just have never seen that fire from him as I have in guys like Brees. Then again, when your former team drafts a QB with its first pick (high too), that'll light a fire under your arse.

Green is a better prospect than Culpepper, even though he should have fewer years left to play. Yet I wouldn't be shocked if he's playing longer than Daunte.

Saban made a couple of bad choices - Culpepper and begging Ricky to come back. Neither have gone well, to say the least. Now Cam is stuck with both choices - looks like Ricky took care of one of the issues himself. The other, well - Cam is trying to solve that this year with Green. I can't blame him...

Moss to the Packers was a legitimate rumor, but Packer fans were dreaming if they ever thought it was going to happen...

    Same situation here.

At least your team didn't give Ryan Leaf a try or think Quincy Carter was the answer. Ick.

We did draft Curtis Enis with the 3rd or 4th pick though. Almost as bad...

As for the McNabb rumor, that is the first I've heard of it...that would be a big deal. Before McNabb was injured last year, he was putting up HUGE numbers.

Who would the Bears be giving up for him? Draft picks? Briggs?

I would think Briggs holding out would be part of this hypothetical. Chicago gets a QB, Philly gets a great linebacker. Of course, Chicago would need to give up more than that - yet I see those being the biggest players if it happens.

Can you say Rick Mirer or Cade McNown?

Almost forgot about Attitude Cade. (The Bears didn't draft Mirer...I believe Seattle did)
