    Boundary Waters trip

We're heading up to the BWCAW over the 4th of July for our annual trip. Got me wondering how may CFanatics are heading up there this summer?

We head up every late July or early August. Of our 4 years we've had wonderful weather every time except 2 years ago when it was cooler and rainy.

I'm headed there on the 28th of June for a week of paddling/camping. Fanatics... check out this guide service in Ely if you get a chance...

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Hmmm...never been in that area. Looks like mostly Lake Trout path, Long Island and Frost are deep lakes. If you fish, i'd love to hear how you do.

Its been a couple of summers since we last went, but this is where we usually go..very friendly people (from waterloo I believe), great fishin, very reasonable prices, and just an hour or so north of International falls.

We stayed at the Gunflint Lodge the end of May this year and loved it. Do you stay at a lodge? If so, what are some of your favorites and what do you like about them? We want to go again and maybe try a different one.

We'll do some fishing, but mostly for walleye and northern. Lake trout have been a little hard to catch out of a canoe for my crew. Long Island is a great fishing lake. Haven't been to Frost before but I hear it's great.

My wife and I went canoeing in the BWCA for our honeymoon in 2008. As soon as I get the chance to move back to the Midwest I definitely plan on going back to the BWCA more!

Love the Boundary Waters! Clearwater Lake on Gunflint trail - great place to stay!

It has been a 3 or 4 years, but we had a great time up there….saw all kinds of wildlife including moose and black bear.
