really too bad ISU/Iowa are not in the same conference. how beneficial would it be for all to be as close as OU/OSU

all the people complaining about ISU giving up their share of the buyout money need to read this.

Big 12 will talk about offer to share money

interestingly, it may have been a great strategic move by GG and JP to suggest it as an act of loyalty. From the sounds of it, anyway, that was the message it sent.

That does make me feel better. Hopefully Oklahoma and Texas A&M will follow the Longhorns lead and refuse to take our "gift".

Here's the answer from that article...
Texas Tech chancellor Kent Hance, however, said he was unsure whether the proposal would fly."It is my understanding that the University of Texas was not going to take that money," Hance said.
"That does not surprise me. Bill Powers and DeLoss Dodds are people of integrity, and they would not be involved in something like that, and I doubt anybody else would take that money."
Texas Tech, Hance said, also opposes any such arrangement. It is not known how Oklahoma State would figure into the proposal.
IMO, nobody takes that offer, but I can see the new BigXII putting it into a league fund.
