The Top Iowa High School Athletes Ever

I heard John Miller talk about it the other day.

The guy who brought it up said the top 3 were

    Jerry Moses
    Tim Dwight and
    Gary Thompson

I thought Freddy would be there somewhere. He would have been a 4 star QB recruit in Football. A 4-5 star basketball recruit.

Also Hurl Beachum was another one I was thinking of. He was a 3-4 star QB recruit in football and a 3-4 star basketball recruit. ANy you guys can think up?

Also it was high school only. It did not matter what they did in College or the NFL

I would have to put Jess Settles in that mix too, even though he didn't pan out due to health reasons

You have to put Haluska on that list, the guy was a track star as well. Phenomenal high school athlete.

What did Settles play beside basketball. I had not heard of him in any other sport. Like Marv Cook was great in about 4 different sports. Also College don't count.

Didn't Tavian Banks tear things up in the high school ranks at RB for Bett?

Joey Woody (IC High) was a freak on the track.

Did Trev Alberts play other sports besides football?

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

None of these guys are exactly household names once you get outside Iowa.

Freddy was also a stud track guy, I think he won a state title in the high jump, and a great pitcher. The guy was just an all around great athlete, he would be at the top of my list for no other reason than he exceled in all major sports.

4 is about the max sports you can do,
    Football - fall
    Bball - Winter
    Track -Sping
    Baseball - summer.
