Well.... someone had to say it eventually. Come on... we have been struggling pretty badly in b-ball and we have still been beating on NU & CU. What more is there to say then that?

True. =) Realistically we have had some bumps lately on an otherwise decently smooth path in bball. Obviously others know that which is nice.

No kidding. When a national guy like Andy Katz who has his face plastered on ESPN all the time understands exactly the situation that ISU had been in then you know things aren't nearly as bad as what they were appearing to be. Hopefully Hoiberg can capitalize with strong recruiting (which it appears he has been so far) and the ISU program will be on the rise. The Hoiberg hire may not have even hit the radar in Austin or Lawrence but I am positive that the other schools in the conference were thinking "Oh ****".

I would be hesitant to eat anything made by a krustysponge.

Katz is alright in my book.

Hoiberg really has his work cut out for him. I really hope this works out for both of us. Football is king, but when the snow hits the ground there's nothing better than a competitive basketball game played in the BigXII.

Bingo!!! I remember being upset because he gave very little credit to the Elite 8 team as the season progressed.

Interesting take on the conference. Football was driving and still is driving basketball in a way it never has before. They are not standalone sports like they used to be.

Nice. The name is an ode to a Spongebob episode. My kids watch it and gives me an excuse to watch it.

"The question is whether Iowa State can regroup and recruit under new coach Fred Hoiberg? If he can, there is no weak link in the bunch and there are no wins that can be counted on to get into the NCAA tournament in a given season."

I guess this just shows how far down the ladder we have fallen during the failed McDermott era...an era that many of you kept begging for us to have 'patience' with...just a reminder that winning is important all the time...not just 'next year'.

FWIW...I think Katz is a tool.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Katz and especially Fran Fraschilla have been very nice in their comments about ISU the last few years.

And there's no way to sugarcoat it, under Greg McDermott, we were a dog in the Big 12.
