    Boost to recruiting

Now that the Big "12" has been finalized, does this help ISU recruit the south, especially Texas? I would think CPR has a huge recruiting pitch following yesterday's announcement. Playing Oklahoma, A&M, and Texas every year should help recruiting.

Don't recruits want to play the best -- year in and year out? Why only play Texas twice in a 4 year career? To be considered the best, you have to play the best. I'd rather go 6-6 playing the top teams every year with a chance for a major upset than go 8-4 not playing the top tier teams.

Let's "man up" and play the best without fear of losing.

    Agree!

I think this helps us in the South. I also think Nebraska going to the Big Ten hurts both their recruiting in the South and the Hawkeye's recruiting (everywhere).

Another BIG selling point is that we will likely have 2 games in TX and 1 in OK EVERY YEAR, as oppossed to 1 or 2 in the south that we have now.

    Re: Boost to recruiting

I think the biggest boost to recruiting will be whatever facilities upgrades we make over the next few years.

Yes, the big boys are getting more money than us, but 10 million extra dollars for them doesn't change much. Texas already has state of the art facilities and one of the biggest video boards in the world.

7 million dollars (or similar) a year for ISU means a lot more.

What does a 4* DT or Rush End go for in the SEC these days?

Well in the PAC10 it will cost bowl games and scholarships.

If ISU ever cheats, they will get caught and will deffinitely not get any leniancy. We would be lucky to still have a football program.

It will probably hurt the entire big10's recruiting. The state of Nebraska adds nothing to the big 10 recruiting pool. Since they won't be able to rely on southern kids who want at least a couple warm-weather games, NU will be recruiting big10 states, thinning out that pool.

Nebraska recruits mostly out of California so I don't think the impact will be quite as much as if they focused on Texas kids.
