For the money being talked about, how couldn't it?

    Re: New TV deal question

Can ISU start it's own Cyclone Network? Not really a legal question, but more of a "how much support" does an ISU network need to start?

I know a lot of out of state ISU fans that would want it in their cable package

    Re: New TV deal question

ISU alone wouldn't be able to start our own network. If ISU joined up with schools like KU, KSU and Mizzou maybe they could create a Big 12 North network. I heard people talk about when there is no college athletics going on put in high school sports to fill it up.

I expect some sort of partnership with mediacom to get the cyclone tv network off the ground though I doubt it gets national appeal.

    I'd pay $1 a month for it.

    Re: New TV deal question

We have a cyclone network of sorts if you subscribe to cyclones.com you get all the video produced by the AD, and I have watched many women's BB and vollyball games live on the site. I pay like $70 per year and it is worth every penny. If we had more live events on it, I would even pay more. As it grows in content it can move to a cable provider.

I think the five "little" schools should take the $2 million they each get from CO and NE and form a joint production company that will produce events at each school to be shared by each schools "network", whether it is on the internet or cable tv. Sso if ISU plays WBB at Kansas the game can be put live on any of the five school"s network.

    Re: New TV deal question

I am going to be really nervous about this tv deal. I want to know the details.
I wonder if its just like what we have currently - 2 teams. Then whatever doesn't get picked up goes to Mediacom. That could put some money back in Mediacoms pocket. I guess I could just go to a friends house to watch the game.

Worst part is with the new deals direct is offering and the more price increases from mediacom I am finally making the switch.

    Re: New TV deal question

Can they now put a lot more games on Clonezone? Will Iowa State be able to have an internet stream along with a broadcast?

    Re: New TV deal question

Well it was Direct TV and the Big Ten network that forces every cable subscriber to pay 88 cents per month to the Big Ten. Rupert Murdoch owns Direct TV and 49% of the Big Ten Network. And who was behind the expansion in the Pac 10 and the effort to dissolve the Big XII?

I can almost guarantee the networks will have none re broadcast rights. I imagine it would goto the clone zone right after the game was over
