In the words of Steve Deace

When asked by Jon Miller to explain the sudden departure of Greg McDermott to Creighton, Steve simply said "sometimes good things just happen to good people."

I think the same thing applies here. June 14, 2010 might be one of the most important days in Cyclone history.

Re: In the words of Steve Deace

Deace missed on another prediction today when he said this morning that the Big 12 would still implode, even though Jon was predicting the conference would stick together.

Deace hopes that the Big 12 implodes... I think the Big Ten is going to explode-- lot of arrogance in the conference now.

There is something in the air, folks. Things that look like they may be heading to foul territory are curving into play for Iowa State. Chizik to Rhoads, McDermott to Mayor, no conference to richer conference. It's time to stop waiting for the other shoe to drop. Time to stop seeing everything negatively. Embrace the golden (and cardinal) future of ISU athletics!

This is exactly what I have been thinking the past few hours. Our luck may have finally turned. Three Situations that have looked bleak turned into some great things that never would have happened without them.

The problem with that argument is that in the Big Ten, everybody is an equal. The OSU's and Michigan's don't have the same brand of arrogance as Texas. They don't feel the compulsive need to be superior to their peers, which is what caused the disfuntion in the Big 12. And the little schools (Iowa, Indiana, Northwestern, etc.) are more than happy, as they are making just as much money off of TV as the big boys are.

Something tells me that Jamie Pollard might have his hand in this to some degree. Well obviously he does. But how much of this happen without him at the helm? I hope he stay at Iowa State for a long time.

Yeah, it's hard to give him a lot of credit but if he is worthless he is our lucky charm

I remember sitting in my truck in my driveway after work one day about 5 years ago listening to Deace talking about the big 12 losing teams in the future. He was half right, he was saying Colorado and Missouri. I have to give it him props for that.

I don't believe that at all. I don't think that Deace wishes ill will to ISU. And even though he is a Big 11 fan first, their success doesn't have to be at the expense of the Big 12/ISU.

at least he made it clear this week that he still has his hands in the state's till. hopefully with our new-found windfall we can stop taking tax payer money.

That is why ND cannot join the Big Ten.
