    2011 football schedule

    With Nebraska leaving after 2010 and Colorado not leaving until after 2011, how will the big 12 fix the schedule?

    I'm pretty sure Colorado will be leaving after this year as well.

    That would be my initial thought too, but maybe not if the Pac Ten gets a 12th that wants to give two years notice also.

    They will figure out the schedule. It's not that difficult

    If that's the case then what happens with ISU non-conference schedule? Since we are going to be playing 9 conference games that means there can only be 3 non-conference games. So do we break those contracts because off then?

    Unless they change it, CU announced they have two seasons left in the Big 12.

    Either Nebraska or Colorado is going to change their timeline. I highly doubt Nebraska will and I also highly doubt we will see a 11 team Big XII next year.

    maybe ISU can have a home and away series with CU before they leave
    get 2 wins before they exit!

    Re: 2011 football schedule

    I seem to recall the Pac 10 being agreeable to the idea of an accelerated timeline if necessary. The sticking point would be the extra amount of buyout CU would have to pay.

    Re: 2011 football schedule

    CU will be gone after this year...guarantee.

    I wonder if we dump the game at Utah since we only get 3 non-conferences for 2011 and that is likely a tough one.

    Re: 2011 football schedule

    Let's assume Nebraska and Colorado are gone after this season.

    For 2011, that leaves us with 9 conference games, plus 3 of these 4 currently scheduled....

    @Utah
    Iowa
    @Connecticut
    Northern Iowa

    Utah will be a BCS team in the Pac-12 at that point. If UNI is the team we drop, we will play all 12 games against BCS opponents.

    Re: 2011 football schedule

    We probably have a home and away deal with Utah, so I'd guess Uconn will get dumped over the Iowa teams.

    But isn't the UCONN game finishing up the home and away deal from like 5 years ago (and may have already been postponed once)? I would guess the Utah game would be pushed back. If there is some sort of monetary buy out for these games than maybe the cheapest one just gets paid off and goes away.
