Can we out-recruit Nebraska in TX and OK now?

If you're the parents of a talented kid in either TX or OK, wouldn't you rather have your son go play football at ISU now over going to Nebraska?

I would. You would get to see them play every time they came down to play OU, OSU, TX, TT, A&M, and Baylor. If you send them to Nebraska, you would have to drive up to Lincoln all the time.

But now they can see them on tv every single game on the Big Ten Network. I agree with you and think we have a better advantage now, but it's close.

Nebraska is still Nebraska... a football power school. They may not play in Texas or OU very often anymore, but a good recruit will still want to play for a good school.

If ISU can manage football success over the next 5 years+, then we may start to gain an advantage compared to NU. But that's a long ways off at this point.

We don't have to compete with them in conference now. I raised this issue in another thread, and I am under the opinion that it will be a little easier. Kids who want to play in the Big 12 (from Texas) just got a few less options now.

Depends, half of our conference schedule is against Texas teams so I think we hold a slim edge. Just my biased opinion.
