OK and OKST move to North?

When we do add teams to get back to 12 so we have a championship game, will they move OK and OK ST to the north to balance the power out? If so, what about the TX OK game each year?

Unfortunately we may not be adding teams back into the north.

No split divisions please. Love the round robin format. THIS is the way a conference should be.

Everyone plays everyone and may the best team win.

10 teams is the perfect size for a conference.

    Bigger IS NOT better.

I thought they were going to get a waiver from the NCAA to continue the championship game, at least for a few more years.

So what about Tulsa? I know they are not powerhouses but they have not been pushovers and have some good wins in recent years. I think odds are pretty good we will be the only true "north" team in the BXII once all is said and done. SMU, TCU come to mind in looking to join a league like the BXII

So you want to kill ANY chance of ever winning a Big 12 championship? (yeah, I realize in 14 years we haven't been there yet)

    Keep the championship game.

Disagree. Id either say 9 teams and play everyone, or 12. Not having 4 nonconference games is a very bad thing for schools like us that are not 'elite' and play a major out of conference opponent.

Our new schedule = the tough rotation, every year. Except instead of having an easy nonconference team, we add baylor, and instead of CU and NU, we have TAMU and OSU.

We've always had to look forward to the 'easy years' with just baylor, tamu, and OSU, now we'll be permanently locked in a schedule much harder than our typical 'hard years'.

You make good points, but isn't having a conference championship game important?

If the conference plays round robin against all opponents and has no divisions, what would a championship game do (other than provide another tv slot for two teams)? There would be no reason to hold a championship game as a conference winner would have been decided by the season.

I love the ten team conference arrangement. Unless we add someone like ND to the north, eventually the balance of power is going to shift south, ticking some former power off (see: Nebraska). No divisions and a round robin format provide a more equal format than divisions.

I for one don't mind playing OK and UT every year. We should get one of them at home every year giving us a big draw to replace UN-L and possibly UofI (each only every other year). Even if you mark those two down as auto-losses even in good years, 10-2 isn't too bad.

The problem is... moving OU and OSU to the North puts 6 teams in the North and 4 teams in the South.

Only one team can move to the North, but I doubt OU and OSU will split up.

There aren't divisions with only 10 teams.

Let's just be happy we're still in the B12 and not worry about divisions until the time comes.

If the conference moves to 12 teams, the biggest thing stopping this is rivalry between OU and UT.
