Re: first football commit for 2011

GREAT get. Brock is from my hometown and is going to be a stud. He's a man-child on the football field and great in the classroom as well. Everyone I have talked to from my hometown has nothing but good things to say about him. It's nice we're going to have a coach that can get us back to some hard nosed Iowa boys.

(Let's stay positive about him in this thread, there are plenty of other threads to be negative in. We got a kid that still wants to be at ISU!)

Wow... give Paul Rhoads the Coach of the Year award right now for being able to convince anyone to come to ISU right now. Great job!

    WELCOME ABOARD BROCK!

I LOVE that you are picking the good guys to be part of ISU, not the division we play sports in! It just shows the kind of loyalty you have and the ability of our coaching staff to command such loyalty! GO CYCLONES!

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

Also I hate how newspapers write Washington High School. He's from Cherokee. I have no idea why we use the name of our high school building as our school name. It ****** me off in high school finally making it to state and hearing Cherokee-Washington... everybody thought we were consolidated. Stupid.

Only a two-star, but I agree with the poster who said that we can't be overly choosy this year with the current situation. Looking forward to see him play.

Wasn't Cherokee good in the early 90's?

Very good Deal. Glad to have a lineman, especially one that has played on both sides of the ball. Sounds like solid academics too.

    Welcome to the Cyclones Brock.

Do you mind giving some more details on him? I noticed he wasn't offered by any other D1 schools, is there a reason for that? Thanks

Iowa was very interested in him. They wanted him to come to camp so they could evaluate him, but he passed after committing. And as for why no one else has offered, he's from a small Iowa town and kids like that don't get noticed, especially playing a position like OL, unless they go on the camp circuit.

Re: first football commit for 2011

I get the whole 'he's from Iowa and a two star guy' attitude but keep something in mind...this years class will be very small. Any guy we offer before the summer starts has serious talent. Throw those stars out of the window...this kid gains some weight and we could have a real stud on our hands.

This kid looks like he is going to be a beast once he adds another 50 pounds.
