MBB recruiting done for a few years?

With Dodie leaving official and in honor of the updated roster on Cyclones.com I thought I'd do a little writeup.

I think it's interesting to note that if all of the recruits McD has committed for the next few years make it to ISU and stay through their eligibility, he's close to having recruiting wrapped up through the 10-11 season.

    07-08 Roster
    Boozer Fr.
    Brackins Fr.
    Brister Fr.
    Garrett Fr.
    Staiger Fr.
    Vette Fr.
    C. Johnson So.
    W. Johnson So.
    Thompson Jr.
    Clark Sr.
    Hubalek Sr.
    Taylor Sr.

    12 scholarships

    08-09 Roster
    Eikmeier Fr.
    Buckley Fr.
    Gibbs (?) Fr.
    Thompson (?) Fr.
    Boozer So.
    Brackins So.
    Brister So.
    Garrett So.
    Staiger So.
    Vette So.
    C. Johnson Jr.
    W. Johnson Jr.
    Thompson Sr.

    13 Scholarships

    09-10
    Cougill? E. Johnson? Fr.
    Eikmeier So.
    Buckley So.
    Gibbs (?) So.
    Thompson (?) So.
    Boozer Jr.
    Brackins Jr
    Brister Jr.
    Garrett Jr.
    Staiger Jr.
    Vette Jr.
    C. Johnson Sr.
    W. Johnson Sr.

    13 Scholarships

    10-11
    Dykstra Fr.
    Barnes Fr.
    Cougill? E. Johnson? So.
    Eikmeier Jr.
    Buckley Jr.
    Gibbs (?) Jr.
    Thompson (?) Jr.
    Boozer Sr.
    Brackins Sr.
    Brister Sr.
    Garrett Sr.
    Staiger Sr.
    Vette Sr.

    13 scholarships

Now, if this worked out like this, he would only have 3 more scholarship offers to give out before 2010. One for 2009, and two more for 2008 although hopefully we snag Gibbs and somebody like Zeller.

While this would be the case, I do consider it to be highly unlikely as we'll probably lose at least 1 or 2 guys to transfers and the like. But I do think it's cool the future of the program is getting mapped out that far, although the recruiting seasons will seem a bit less exciting as time goes on because of this.

That 09-10 roster is scary good (at least potential-wise)!

Stability is good. Just hope we do not lose scholarships due to the past three years.

What's the story on Tyreese Breshers? Scout shows we don't have much of a chance with him, but Rivals is showing us in the top spot.

Last I heard on Breshers, it didn't look good.

I'll lay my money on Breshers going to Washington and Purdue getting Zeller.

The "top spot" oon Rivals isn't of any significance. That's just alphabetical order.
