Larry Scott on the move, not terrible news for ISU

Here's a report that state PAC 10 commish Larry Scott is on the moving handing out invites.

That's bad. Read the end of this story though.

It alludes to a meeting that could take place on Monday involving all of the Big 12's AD's to see if they can keep the league together. Talk of a new TV contract would be the conversation topic.

The question is, does the Fox contract still exist?

Go! To show them how the Cyclones cheer.

    I'm sure it does.

How I understand it is that without the Texas schools, the PAC 10 doesn't get that contract. The contract would more than likely go where the Texas schools are. So with the remaining 10 teams plus a few (maybe four) more, the Big 12 gets that deal and Iowa State is all of the sudden much better off financially.

How will revenue be split? That'd still be a major hurdle.

Here is how that meeting goes:

Fox Represenative: "We will give you 140M bucks a year, divided 10 ways that is 14M bucks for each member. Pretty good deal huh guys?"

Texas: "We want 75% of the 140M or we go to the PAC 10."

End of meeting. End of B12.

I just don't see what good it would do at this point. Dan Beebe is a moron, and has been very vocal about no new TV plans, expansion, etc. I realize this is all fluff, but we would have the same problems as we did have. Something would need to drastically change!

The problem is Texas knows that they will get equal revenue sharing in PAC-16. Split between 16 teams, with greater competition, and less control, I'm not sure Texas digs the situation. I still believe that they'd like to have as much control as possible and if that means equal revenue sharing, I think they'll be inclined to take it. As it is, the split between Baylor and Texas is 3 million dollars. I don't think that with the increase they would lose that much. Then again, they are greedy bastards so i don't know.

How about Colorado State? Probably picks up the Denver market about as well as CU from what everyone here says.

you know what would be even better. If the PAC10 got dissed and Colorado was part of it. So what if ISU ends up with 15 Million per year and CU gets 8.

I can wish right. That being said I really think the PAC10 and B12 should have just planned on a combined network like they originally met on.. They got greedy. because they wanted 22 Million verus 18 million per school could turn out to ruin traditions and college football.
The main thing is I just want a decent conference to play in. As long as we hold serve financially I don't really care about getting rich. Hey Minny, Indiania, Purdue, Illinois. Vandy, Duke, Virginia, Miss St etc..How is all that money working out for ya. You guys really did awesome this year.

Picking up Colorado State would really stick it to the Buffs.

All of the sudden, "little brother" is making a lot more money and is playing with the big boys.

Thought people thought the Big 12 North was weak before Nebraska left? Would never hear the end of it with a division like that. The South would dominate even more then they already have.

I just spent the week in Ft Collins for work. I don't think anyone in Colorado would frickin care. Its a beautiful place, but man.....The only thing those people are concerned about is riding their bikes and recycling. Great town though. Way cool
