    Chip...Bye Big 12 South...

I'm told Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are going to the Pac-10 with or without Texas A&M.

And Dave Matter of Columbia Daily Tribune (Missouri paper) : "After Big Ten announces Nebraska tomorrow, I'm told strong chance that Rutgers next in line to become No 13"

Also says Utah or KU could go to Pac 10 if A&M doesnt.

kind of looking like ISU and KSU don't have chairs. I think there is no Big East chance without KU and MU.

If it is between the Pac 16 and the New Big East for KU, they probably pick the New Big East. Get to keep KSU and MU as well as join the biggest basketball conference in the country.

Thats what i thought as well. KU is a basketball school. NBE will be big enough football wise to bring in money, and basketball-wise will be a top notch conference.

So is the KU & KSU package deal a fallacy?

    Re: Chip...Bye Big 12 South...

No way does KU pass on the opportunity to not go to the Big East.
AD Lew was a former UConn guy, so he knows the Big East, heck KU had BE officials on campus today.

    MWC takes Utah.

As for MU or ISU I still think one of us lands in the BIG10.

KU recruits a ton more talent from the east. If KU went to the Big East I could see Self bringing in even better classes then he is now. But football recruiting could take a big hit if we're not in the same conference as Texas. The last 3 years about half our recruits come from that state.

True, our football recruiting will take a hit not playing in Texas. BUT, not all kids base their decisions on that, and we may be on TV more often, so their families can still watch their kids play. We also may be more competitive in the BE, winning more games, thus bringing in solid recruits that want to play on a winning team, not just because they will get to play a couple games "close" to home each year.

Thats very questionable. ISU had 7 or 8 Florida recruits and never plays there. You recruit where ever you have connections to. I think its a load of BS that you need to play somewhere to recruit there. ISU also had a couple Cali recruits as well.

Where ever you have an in is where you have relationships with the HS coaches.

There is a rumor that not only is KU losing their AD but Self is leaving too -> Michigan State when Izzo goes to the NBA.

It helps a lot to play there. Currently Mizzou and KU have more Texas players on their roster than all the Big 10 teams combined. But I would be happy right now with any BCS conference. Just hope the BE stays together if we get there.
