    Re: Big XII Is Dead

I think there is a good chance that the Big12 namesake will remain with the remaining teams. For no other reason, if at least four schools remain, they are due for a huge payday. If there are just the four or five schools (KU, KSU, ISU, Baylor, ?Mizzou), I can see these teams offering seven or more schools to refill the conference rather than moving to another one. If so, I can see offers going to:

    Utah (South)
    BYU (South)
    TCU (South)
    New Mexico (South)
    Houston (South)
    CSU (North)

    Then possibly,
    Air Force (North)
    Tulsa (South)
    Memphis (South)

I don't see UNLV, Boise St. or San Diego St. getting invites due to location and academics. If the first seven schools all agree to come this won't be a bad conference.

yep, but I don't think we are going to the MWC so this is the next best option to a big10 invite that isn't coming. We are going to fall hard so anything that is not CUSA or MAC is going to be as good as it gets.

No offense, but this isn't a Matt Perrault thread.

There is no revenue here. If you think our $48 mil athletic budget is small now, just wait a couple of years. It will be cut by at least one-third.

I think everyone is aware of that but thanks for the great insight.

    Re: Big XII Is Dead

I keep checking my email for the next JP & GG note. They have had a full week to come up with their "Big XII implosion" email. Had to know it was coming.

CU might be in the cold. They cannot find $10M to skip town.

    Re: Big XII Is Dead

You know what, let's say **** the Pac 10 and go invite Arizona and Arizona State. Also invite Arkansas, Louisville, TCU, Cincy, Utah, and Memphis. We add them to us, KSU, KU, and Baylor. You get...
    Northeast
    Louisville
    Cincy
    Kansas
    Kansas State
    Iowa State
    Arkansas
    Southwest
    Baylor
    Arizona
    Arizona State
    TCU
    Memphis
    Utah

Arkansas doesn't really have a reason to leave but what does the Pac 10 have that we don't. Last time I checked they didn't have a tv deal. They have a bunch of great football powers coming in that will wipe football out of Arizona. Thier basketball teams are struggling as of late. I think that this would make a pretty damn good conference if it all came true. Plus, Mizzou and CU might not even leave. So you could add them in there too. If they don't want to come offer Minnesota, Iowa, LSU, Kentucky. Bebee just grow some ******* balls and save your job and this conference.
