Chip Brown on ESPN just said...

That Texas officials have told coaches they did all they could to save Big 12 but were unsuccessful. Also said the 6 with Colorado, not Baylor, will accept invitations to Pac 10.

I don't see why he'd lie about this. Not this far into it.

Does anyone else think this is exactly what Texas wanted? Nebraska leaving the Big 12 gives them their excuse to leave. It sure seems they were feeding the Texas Rivals site everything to help orchestrate/expedite the whole thing.

Did all they could my ***. The big 12 could survive without nebraska. Texas wanted to go to the pac-10 before it came to the big 12. This is all texas's excuse to get there.

Well, the only thing ISU can do now is to make calls to Texas and try to convince them the league can still stay together. It just may be weak for a little bit but could grow. However, I doubt this will happen.

Actually this is our last best hope. With the pac10 going to 16 we get put in the lottery again when the big10 expands. Of course it is a million to one but at least we get one more shot at relevance.

I agree, the league could still stay together if they wanted to. Losing Nebraska hurts more than most of the schools in the conference but it does not have to be the end of the world. We may not be as strong in Football as before, we may drop to 3rd, or 4th in conference rankings, but does not have to be the end.

Nailed it. I agree 100% that this is what happened. Think about the timeline! Big 10 rumors of asking Nebraska (and missouri) to join them...next thing you know the South schools want out. Lots of crap talked around over the last week and sure enough not 10 MINUTES from the announcement of Nebraska leaving this guy is on ESPN vomiting that Texas and the Big 12 is dead.

    WTF

Oh definitely. I've been thinking this for days. UT wanted Nebraska to leave first so the Huskers look like the bad guys. This is exactly what UT wanted and they orchestrated it to greedy perfection.
