IF....ISU was to join the Big 10.....

I know this probably won't happen, but who would be our rival? I personally don't think it would be Iowa, I think Minnesota would be a great rivalry and we can continue our "great" rivalry with Missouri .

Yep. There seems to already be a bit of animosity between ISU and Minnesota.

As much as Iowa fans would disagree, it would be Iowa.

Close seconds would be Minnesota, Missouri, NU

Are you applying jimlad to your whole post or just the Missouri portion?

I think Iowa easily. Even if they don't want to admit it, we're probably their biggest right now. If for no other reason than we play them every year, in everything. Not to mention some success, even in football as of late.

    They certainly are ours.

And being in conference will put a little more weight on it.

I think the more realistic question is who will you root for when Nebraska plays Iowa? It pains me to say, but it will be Nebraska. I really don't like Nebraska but I have to see Iowa Fans everyday and their smugness over this whole situation is really ******* me off - see Jon Miller, had his show on for about 30 seconds this morning and turned it off.

Re: IF....ISU was to join the Big 10.....

I would be psyched with our "rivalry" situation in general. Iowa would be #1, but Nebraska(Big Ten Era) and Minnesota would be much better secondary rivalries than Nebraska(Big XII/8 Era) and Mizzou.

Re: IF....ISU was to join the Big 10.....

I don't really know, I think we could have more decent rivalries with Minn/Wisc, probably more so since we have a little history with Minn. Nebraska and Missou would be what they are now basically.

On the flip side, the Neb/Iowa rivalry would be instantly huge. A non-competition rivalry has been brewing there for years, and would probably jump to the #2 rivalry in the big 10 behind Ohio State/Mich.

The correct answer is you root for a sinkhole to swallow the stadium.

Our biggest rival would be Iowa but I'm not sure if there's would be ISU.

Re: IF....ISU was to join the Big 10.....

It would be Iowa and we would then become a serious rival to them then. It becomes a conference game which means something. Besides that how embarrassing would it be to get beat by a team not even supposed to be in the Big Ten.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

Honestly, probably Iowa. My wife is an Iowa alum and her dad is a huge fan (didn't go there... yeah, I know), so in the interest of self-preservation I have to play nice. Personally, I think I harbor greater animosity for Nebraska than I do for Iowa. The 9-7 win last year was infinitely more satisfying than any win we've had over Iowa that I've witnessed ('98 and '05 being possible exceptions).

Of course, I have the luxury of not having to deal with Hawk fans on a day to day basis, so maybe I have it easy (Horns and Aggies aren't really aware that ISU exists).
